Château Dudon

Bordeaux Red

This is the estate’s flagship wine, often classified as AOC Bordeaux or Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux depending on the vintage.

Blend: approximately 40% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Profile: a wine focused on fruit and suppleness. It reveals notes of dark fruit (blackberry and blackcurrant) with a crisp structure.

Character: Honest and approachable, it is designed to be enjoyed relatively young (3 to 5 years), although it also has respectable aging potential.

Pairings: charcuterie board, duck breast, or vegetable lasagna.

Château Dudon

Bordeaux Blanc

Blend: Predominantly Sauvignon Blanc (approximately 80%), complemented by Sémillon.

Profile: Very lively and aromatic. It reveals notes of citrus fruits (lemon, grapefruit) and green fruits (apple, plum).

Winemaking: Aged on fine lees for 2 to 3 months to add richness and smoothness to the palate despite its vivacity.

Pairings: Seafood, grilled fish, or simply as an aperitif.

Château Dudon

Bordeaux Rosé

Profile: A fresh and invigorating rosé made from direct pressing.

Aromas: Dominated by tart red berries (redcurrant) and occasional hints of white flowers.

Pairings: Summer cuisine, grilled meats, or composed salads.

Cuvée Jean Baptiste Dudon

Côtes de Bordeaux red

This is the special cuvée, more powerful and complex, named in homage to the château’s founder in the 18th century.

Aging: 12 months in oak barrels (one-third of which are renewed).

Profile: A more sophisticated nose with toasty and vanilla notes and sometimes hints of coffee or praline from the aging process.

Character: On the palate, the wine is fuller-bodied and denser, with silky tannins and a lingering finish. This is a wine for aging.

Pairings: Ribeye steak, porcini mushroom risotto, or aged cheeses (Comté).

L'acanthe de Dudon

Côtes de Bordeaux red

L’Acanthe is not simply a wine; it’s a demonstration of strength and elegance. Created for the 2000 vintage, its ambition is to prove that the terroirs of Baurech (Premières Côtes de Bordeaux) can rival the greatest classified growths when viticulture is pushed to its limits.

A work of haute couture

For this wine, the estate adopts an “extreme” approach in both the vineyard and the cellar:

In the vineyard: very short pruning to limit yields, thinning (green harvesting), and manual leaf removal for perfect phenolic ripeness.

Exceptional winemaking: part of the malolactic fermentation takes place directly in new barrels, a precise technique that allows for optimal integration of the oak.

Aging: 15 months in oak barrels (50% new, 50% one-year-old), with a rigorous selection of woods producing the finest and most integrated tannins.

Sensory Profile

The Nose: Rich and complex, it elegantly blends black fruits (blackberry, blueberry) and ripe red fruits, underscored by a precious and discreet oak influence.

The Palate: The attack is direct, followed by remarkable breadth. The structure is powerful yet always refined, with a silky tannic framework that testifies to the quality of the aging.

Aging Potential & Serving

This is a true wine for aging. In great vintages, Acanthe can develop in the cellar for up to 10 years, where it will gain in tertiary complexity (undergrowth, leather, sweet spices).
